Worship is...
Worship is nothing more than realizing who you are,
who God is, and acting appropriately. The most natural and appropriate response
for believers in Christ is to lift up praise to the God who created us and
loves us enough to give His only begotten Son for our salvation. Our worship team seeks to
lead the congregation in sincere, heartfelt, and meaningful worship that
creates a life change and deepens a believers relationship with Christ, After
all, the truest form of worship is defined in Paul's letter to the church at
Rome...
Romans 12:1 (NIV)
1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God--this is your spiritual act of worship.
You see, worship isn't merely an event that occurs for an hour on Sunday morning. It's a life. It's a heart that seeks to bring glory to God both in words and deeds. It's an encounter with Christ that remakes a wounded soul into a new creation, and then the soul is set free to sing.
At Woodlawn, we worship through singing both traditional and contemporary songs of devotion and adulation each week. Our worship also includes a weekly observance of the Lord’s Supper, prayer, and a sermon designed to be relevant and helpful as you live in the real world.
